| Bio: | I'm intelligent, insightful, funny, analytical, emotional, devoted, unconventional, unpretentious and fairly earthy. I have a positive outlook on life, and I am continually fascinated by new knowledge and concepts. Other than my ridiculous devotion to logical consistency, and a tendency to be incensed at people who litter, I am a pretty easygoing and cheerful person. I'm deliriously happy with my main squeeze, Kink is not a "lifestyle" for me - it's something to have a sense of humor about and have fun experimenting with. I enjoy exploring different states of mind, but I always want to return to my base state of being a self-sufficient person who does not surrender control of her life or try to control others. I have tried relationships that have an inherent power balance, and that just doesn't work well for me. I consider myself at some level to be polyamorous, at least part of which derives from my bisexuality. I have always been capable of feeling romantic or sexual attraction to more than one person at a time. That doesn't mean it's always right or good to have more than one significant other, though. Sometimes it's good not to have any! I see relationships as evolving attachments, and am continually trying to improve my ability to love people in the different ways that are called for as I change and they change. That's the biggest challenge for me, and that's the thing that takes me more out of the box than many other qualities I have. I do have many other interesting qualities, however. I'm about to finish a graduate program in a pretty demanding subject. I'm fundamentally nerdy, and it will only get worse as time goes on. I'm a pretty adamant unbeliever in anything supernatural. And I don't take traditional gender roles for granted, but rather see them as a type of kink that most people engage in nonconsensually. My political views would probably have me in the doghouse all around: I'm socially liberal but economically conservative. What I mean by that is, I advocate freedom of contract for any kind of personal or business connections that people wish to have. That goes for any type of business that doesn't engage in theft or nonconsensual harm, and it goes for same-sex or group marriage as well. I think government should have a limited role both in economics and in personal choices. I think sex laws, other than those protecting against nonconsensual activity, are ludicrous and offensive. I think minimum wage laws exclude a large portion of the population from any hope of legal employability. I will get stirred into a little rage over the "obscenity exception" to the First Amendment. I really think government ought to get itself out of any religious dealings whatsoever, and fast, before we find ourselves in a theocracy. I can also get into quite a tizzy over China and its restriction of access to information and tendency to arrest people for things they want to SAY. I don't fit neatly into a category at all, and something in my views is sure to upset someone. But I have a pretty simple philosophy behind these seemingly unrelated topics: people are independent agents, and are governed by their consent. Or in the words of V, from V for Vendetta: "People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people." All my strong opinions about unconventional sex practices or romantic or business arrangements stem from my conviction that a society which tries to control the behavior of its citizens too much will wither in stagnation. People who are free to think, free to speak, free to access information of any kind, free to live as they please without nonconsensually hurting others, and free to earn what others wish to pay them, are people who will go on to solve seemingly intractable problems in the world, improving life for everyone. Last but not least, here's a list of some things that people have said about me: I have the pulse of a runner I'm a challenge I'm verbally intimidating I'm the best ex ever I'm bendy I have a beautiful pink cervix It doesn't look like I cut my own hair I'm a hard worker I have a way with words The way to turn me on is to talk about math I'm extremely logical, for a woman It's impossible to get me to lose my temper I'm pettable I'm responsive, like a race car My facial expressions are childlike I'm extremely alive I have a very hearty laugh I make wonderful noises There's no way I'm 43 | |
